Orlen, which owns the largest network of petrol stations in the Czech Republic, plans to intensify the introduction of alternative energies in 2024. It plans to operate 1,800 high-speed electric charging points and more than 20 hydrogen filling stations by 2030.
The company currently offers 267 electric charging points at 66 filling stations and hydrogen filling stands for cars, buses and trucks at two stations. In the area of e-mobility, the company is starting the construction of its own high-speed charging infrastructure and is continuing its projects for three hydrogen stations in Prague, Brno and Ostrava.
"The past year was special for us because it was full of changes and important milestones. We have renamed over three hundred filling stations, which means that 80 percent of our network is now operated under the ORLEN brand. We celebrated our half-millionth customer on our ORLEN mobile app, dramatically increased our market share of fuel sold and prepared for E10 petrol, which we will start offering in 2024," summarised Vladimír Dočekal, Director of the ORLEN petrol station network.
The ORLEN petrol station network includes 434 petrol stations in the Czech Republic. It is the market leader in the Czech Republic in terms of the number of petrol stations, but also in terms of the volume of fuel sold, which currently reaches 25.7%.
"We want to continue to increase our market share. Firstly, by offering quality fuels and refreshments at favourable prices and secondly, by further expanding the network through larger or smaller acquisitions," explained Vladimír Dočekal.
Orlen is intensively building its alternative fuels and energy offer in the Czech Republic. "Although conventional fuels will continue to prevail for at least ten or fifteen years, we are also developing the infrastructure for electric vehicles. We have opened two hydrogen stations in Prague and Litvínov, and we already offer 93 charging stations with a total of 267 electric charging points at 66 filling stations, making us the market leader in both cases. We see the development of this infrastructure as a necessary investment to maintain our competitiveness in the future," said Vladimír Dočekal.
The ORLEN petrol station network belongs to the ORLEN Unipetrol group, which is owned by the international ORLEN group. The group operates more than three thousand petrol stations in six countries - including Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary and Slovakia. In 2024, it will take over 266 Turmöl stations in Austria.
